Intentions Behind Our Retreat: A message from Christina

I started this company because I’m passionate about mindfulness, and mindful movement. I’ve worked in the corporate wellness setting for years and been blessed with the ability to touch individual lives and help ignite change in people. I want to continue to do this through Mavela. And although I hope my mats do inspire you, I want to be able to CONNECT with the community of this brand, and I want to help ignite self discovery and growth to individuals once again. 

This retreat also allows me to deepen my practice and share it with others. People always say yoga isn’t a workout, it’s a lifestyle. And I’m not sure a lot of people truly understand what that means, unless you’re living the “yogi” lifestyle. It’s not just showing up to a class and moving your body. It’s encompassing this idea of being intentional with everything you do, and staying connected to something greater than us. This is a practice of yoga I have focused on over the last few years, with an emphasis on self discovery, and I now want to share that with my community.

Focusing on self-discovery changes your life, it’s as simple as that. We’ve all gone through hard times, and it impacts all of us in different ways. There is no one solution to help people become better. It takes going down into the trenches of your own mind. Acknowledging and accepting all of the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful within yourself. I always tell people, you don’t find yourself and you don’t create yourself. You do both, you see yourself in your truest form, and then decide how to portray that to the world. How to express every part of you, and honor it. And doing that is the only way to truly become your best self. To accept your faults, embrace them in a way that makes you proud, and shine your true character with every strength you have. This is what I aim to help you do through your personal Journey to Self-Discovery.
